Climate Change
Climate change refers to the long-term alteration of the Earth’s climate patterns, which can be caused by both natural and human factors. Natural factors that contribute to climate change include volcanic eruptions, changes in solar radiation, and shifts in the Earth’s orbit. Human activities such as burning fossil fuels, deforestation, and industrial processes have also been identified as significant contributors to climate change. The accumulation of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, such as carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous oxide, has led to an increase in the Earth’s temperature, known as global warming. This warming effect can cause a range of negative impacts on the environment, including sea level rise, more frequent and severe weather events, and habitat loss for plants and animals. The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) is an international treaty aimed at addressing climate change by reducing greenhouse gas emissions and promoting sustainable development.
