Case Study: Construction and Demolition Project
Under waste legislation construction and demolition waste is defined as “all waste that arises from construction, renovation and demolition activities.”
If you are responsible for carrying out a construction and demolition project, you must ensure that you have a waste management plan. 
ECOS recently successfully completed a waste management plan to the satisfaction of the Local Authority; providing confidence that all waste would be managed in accordance with the relevant legislation.
The scope of work entailed:
- Quantify and identify the waste streams including those which were to remain on site
- Identify suitably licensed facilities to transport and receive waste from the site and provide all relevant documentation relating to the same
- Completion of the site waste management plan
